Training
Overview
We realize the value of good, solid
training. We know what a difference it can make in the daily routine.
We offer training classes for our customers on various topics related
to LGC software, Microsoft
products, and time/stress management.
Each class is a mixture of lecture, exercises,
and hands-on keyboard teaching techniques. We encourage the "learn
by doing" method. Each class is set up with ten workstations
and a teacher work station that is projected to the front of the
class. Each of the ten workstations will have no more than two students
assigned to it. By keeping the classes small, each student has the
opportunity to pose questions and take advantage of the learning
environment.
Classes are held in the training center
in our corporate office in Columbia. We also have locations set
up in East and West Tennessee to make it easier for our customers
from those parts of the state to attend one of our classes.
All classes can be applied towards your
County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) and Association of School
Business Officials (TASBO) certifications. If you need to record
your credits, and did not get one of these forms while at the Training
Class, print the Course Registration
Form
and send it to the appropriate organization.
All customers are invited to attend Local
Government's annual Resource Convention and share ideas and information
with their colleagues and LGC staff as well as staff representatives
from state agencies such as County Audit, Municipal Technical Advisory
(MTAS), County Technical Assistance (CTAS), and the State Department
of Education.
